Camp Rock: The Final Jam - Nintendo DS

Following the release of the sequel to the high rating Disney Channel Original Movie starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato "Camp Rock" comes the game for the Nintendo DS based on the films "Camp Rock: The Final Jam".

The game is based on the original film and the film's sequel, however the game follows the story of the sequel and the only mention of the original film is two playable songs. In the game you take on the role of a new camper. You can choose your camper's appearance but you unable to choose your Camper's name, known simply as "Camper One". After you create your camper you enter Camp Rock, meet with the owner of the camp Brown, and start mingling. The game is set up as a simulation game. You interact with characters from the films and other characters who were specifically made for the game. After meeting some campers you meet the more famous camper Mitchie Torres (played in the film by Demi Lovato). It's also awhile before you get to meet the famous Connect Three; Jason, Shane and Nate (played in the film by Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas). Playing as your camper you talk to your fellow campers who will either instruct you to help them out (i.e. find a missing piece of jewelery) or they will ask you to perform with them or play a mini game with them. What binds these mini games and mini quests together is the story which is the exact same from the sequel. A new camp has opened up across the lake and with the help of your fellow campers and Mitchie you plan to beat the opposing team in a "Camp Wars" camp versus camp televised event. It's pretty much another camper's view of the sequel. Your camper is pretty much the hidden camper from the film who ties everything together.

In total there are six mini games including Guitar, Bass, Drums, Dance, Canoeing and Water Balloons. The Guitar, Bass, Drums and Dance mini games are played to the music of the films where you, in time with the song, play a cord, hit a drum or touch a particular icon on the touch screen with your stylus. In the Canoeing mini game you use the touch screen to steer your canoe and in the Water Balloons mini game it's you against the other campers in a water balloon battle.

There are seven songs from both films included in the game; "This Is Me" and "We Rock" from "Camp Rock" and "Brand New Day", "It's On", "Wouldn't Change a Thing", "Heart and Soul" and "What We Came Here For" from "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam".

The graphics are actually pretty good, with each character created in a cartoon style way and the mini games are fun to play. A great choice for any gamer who is an avid Disney Channel fan. Available now from Disney Interactive Studios.
