Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Inspired by the hit video game series, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" makes it's way on to DVD.

"Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" follows Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhal), an adopted Prince who is framed for the King's murder. Whilst a fugitive he discovers a magical dagger that has the ability to reset time. Along with Princess Tamina, he sets out to find the truth about who murdered his father and clear his name.

The film is very fast paced and filled with a lot of action. But there's plenty for the ladies as well including the growing romance between Prince Dastan and Princess Tamina. There is one main attraction to this film and that is it's amazing sets. Each set is spectacular and visually stunning. There was one thing that made me giggle a little when I first heard it, and that was Jake Gyllenhal's accent. Although he puts on a worthy performance, when I first heard him speak I couldn't help but question what accent he was actually going for. I soon look passed it and it's not a big deal but I believe it was still worth mentioning.

The movie definetly has the star power. Actors involved in the film include main star Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.

The DVD also comes with the bonus behind-the-scenes feature "An Unseen World: Making Prince of Persia" which gives the audience a look behind the camera. It takes a look at the cast, the sets, the stunts and the costumes and is an entertaining look behind the scenes. This is the only feature included. Although more would have been nice, this featurette is lengthy enough to be worthy of being a stand-alone bonus feature. Disney's Fast Play is also not included.

The DVD Menu's are visually appealing, reflecting the persian theme of the movie. The main DVD menu plays a range of clips from the film in the background.

The film is visually appealing, filled with action and I believe it will satsify any fan of the video game franchise. Available October 20th on Walt Disney Home Entertainment.
