Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed: Deluxe Edition

So little Miss Cyrus has grown up eh?? It's a good thing she has because her latest musical offering "Can't Be Tamed" is a winner.

The album opens up with the track "Liberty Walk" an anthem that tells you basically if you don't like what you're doing to walk. It's a great opening track with a lot of grit to it and showcases Miley's new attitude. Track two "Who Owns My Heart" is a much lighter dancier track. It's pretty much a song about music as Miley sings about if love or music holds true ownership of her heart. The album then moves onto the lead single from the album as titled "Can't Be Tamed", that was released with an impressive music video that shows that Miley indeed isn't a little girl anymore. Miley's cover of Poison's hit single "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" is hers. She has made the song completely her own, adding a dance-like drum beat to the song. It still remains it's edge and it's country flair but it has been modernised and has a bit of Miley-ness to it. "Two More Lonely People" which has been announced as the second single from the album, is a mix of country and dance. It has a great dance drum beat to it but includes an acoustic guitar that makes the song an interesting mix. "Forgiveness and Love" is a track that is remeniscent of the seventies with that hippie, carefree vibe to it and "Permenant December" see's Miley rapping. "Stay" is a great ballad that allows Miley to really showcase her vocal range and "Scars", though it isn't the greatest track on the album, it one of the tracks that isn't part of the "dance" genre, along with "Take Me Along" and "Robot". The album closes with the track "My Heart Beats For Love" that is a great song about equality and just about the subject of love.

The Deluxe Edition is also packaged with a DVD of one of Miley's sold-out concerts at the O2 Arena in London. It's a great showcase of Miley's song that see's Miley in a range of costumes and personalities. Her performance of Joan Jett's "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" is a great spectacle as she is lifted above the crowd on a motorcycle. Although none of the songs performed are from the album it is a great inclusion and one that any Miley fan will enjoy.

This album is a step in the maturing of Miley and although some have said she's alienated her younger fanbase I believe she has gained a lot of older fans. The blending of dance and pop and rock works well on the album and Miley has outdone herself, providing her fans with, what I believe, is her greatest work so far. Well done Miley.
