Wizards of Waverly Place Original Soundtrack

The hit Disney Channel Original series makes its music debut with the release of the Wizards of Waverly Place soundtrack.

The soundtrack opens with the hit series' main star Selena Gomez on three tracks. The opening track is an eighties inspired pop track, the second track is a mellow pop/rock song and the third is a cover of The Pilots hit "Magic", a great rendition that both new listeners and old lovers of the original will enjoy listening to.

Nearly all the tracks on the soundtrack include the word "Magic" including Steve Rushton's cover of "Strange Magic", a great cover with a haunting vibe, Mitchel Musso's cover of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", which doesn't really differ from the original and Meaghan Martin's cover of Olivia Newton-John's "Magic".KSM's cover of "Magic Carpet Ride" is a fun rendition which moves away from the mellow vibe to a more fun and poppy vibe.

A couple of previous hits by Hollywood Records' artists are included on the soundtrack. Aly & AJ's cover of "Do You Believe In Magic" is included as is Raven-Symone's "Some Call It Magic". Although "Do You Believe In Magic" fits in with the soundtrack "Some Call It Magic" was recorded for the second soundtrack to That's So Raven and refers to that series so seems out of place and only included because it includes the word 'magic'.

The series' theme song "Everything Is Not What It Seems" (although credited on the soundtrack as "Everything Is Not As It Seems") is also included as the closing track.

The soundtrack is a great reflection of the series and includes a great selection of covers and new pop originals that will be enjoyed by any lover of the series.
