Gnomeo and Juliet - Original Soundtrack

gnomeo_soundtrack

Coinciding with the theatrical release “Gnomeo and Juliet” comes the original soundtrack.

The album includes tracks featured in the film, which is an ode to legendary singer Elton John. The opening song “Hello, Hello” is a new track performed by Elton John. In the film the song is performed by both John and Lady Gaga but this version was not included on the soundtrack. This could possibly be because Disney doesn’t think that Lady Gaga really suits the “Disney” image. It’s a nice opener which is reminiscent of old fifties pop music.

Also included on the soundtrack is a new take on the Elton John classic “Crocodile Rock” performed by Nelly Furtado featuring Elton John. The song is a fun take on an old classic and is probably my favourite track from the entire soundtrack.

Also included is a bunch of Elton John classic tracks including the duet with Kiki Dee “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, “Your Song”, “Rocket Man”, “Tiny Dancer” and “Bennie and The Jets”.

Another new song from Elton John is also included. “Love Builds A Garden” is a slow song that uses the idea of a garden explaining the feelings and emotions of love.

Although this soundtrack might not appeal to a younger market it has major appeal to an older audience who enjoys the old Elton John classics with a few new tracks by John and selections from the score composed by Elton John. Available Now From Walt Disney Records, Buena Vista Records and Universal Music Australia.
