Another Cinderella Story

Following the release of the original film "A Cinderella Story" starring Hilary Duff comes "Another Cinderella Story", the story of Mary (Selena Gomez), who is an inspiring dancer and with the help of pop superstar Joey Page (Drew Seeley) may realise her dancing dreams. Along with the film comes the arrival of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Track By Track

1.Tell Me Something I Don't Know - Selena Gomez
This song has already become a hit on Radio Disney and is featured on Radio Disney Jams 11. It is a pure pop song with a rock edge. The music is energetic and suits the "dance" theme to the movie well.

2.New Classic (Single Version) - Drew Seeley and Selena Gomez
The collaboration with Drew and Selena works well although Drew is more prominent on the song. It's a very r'n'b, pop inspired track and Selena's vocals on the track are really good.

3.Hurry Up And Save Me - Tiffany Giardina
A favourite on the soundtrack. It's a classic pop/rock song reminiscent of Hilary Duff's earlier stuff. Think a more hyped-up and grittier version of "Little Voice".

4.Just That Girl - Drew Seeley
A surprising track. It still has the r'n'b popness to the song but it works well.

5.Bang A Drum - Selena Gomez
An electro-80's type track that has a great beat to it. Selena's distorted vocals sound really good with the track. The chorus is very "sing-along" and it has a pretty good message encouraging listeners to "Bang to the beat of your own drum".

6.1st Class Girl - Marcus Paulk & Drew Seeley
A r'n'b track where Drew Seeley features singing the chorus vocals. It's a pretty good track and was unexpected when first heard.

7.Hold 4 You - Jane Lynch
A hilarious track where Jane Lynch, as the character of Dominque, sings her signature single. Good for a laugh but don't take it too seriously.

8.Valentine's Dance Tango - The Twins
Although it sounds pretty good I don't really know why it was included seeing as it's simply an instrumental.

9.No Average Angel - Tiffany Giardina
Not as strong as "Hurry Up and Save Me" but still good. Still very pop/rock.

10.Don't Be Shy - Small Change, Lil' JJ and Chani
Probably my least favourite track on the soundtrack. The chorus is good to sing along too but it's not the best song I've come across.

11.X-Plain It To My Heart - Drew Seeley
Drew's voice pitch has been altered to make him sound younger, since this song was released earlier in Joey Page's music career in the film. It's not of great length and it's a little cheesy.

12.New Classic (Live Version) - Drew Seeley & Selena Gomez
This song is simply the audio from the film where Mary and Joey sing and dance onstage.

13.Another Cinderella Story (Score Suite) - by John Paesano
Just a suite.

14.New Classic (Solo Version) - Drew Seeley (Hidden Track)
This is a slowed down solo version of New Classic with some new lyrics and it works really well.

Summary

All in all the soundtrack is a good companion for the film. Stand out tracks would be "Tell Me Something I Don't Know", "Hurry Up and Save Me" and "Bang A Drum".

8/10
