Cars 2 - Original Soundtrack

Cars_2_Original_Score_Soundtrack_(Official_Album_Cover)
Along with the release of the sequel to the Disney Pixar film, comes the soundtrack to the motion picture “Cars 2”.

The soundtrack includes an array of different artists including country artist Brad Paisley, Indie group Weezer, pop singer Robbie Williams and international artists Benabar and Perfume. The mix of different and international artists reflect the films main plot where racing car Lightning McQueen travels the world to compete in the World Cup.

“You Might Think”, performed by Weezer, is a cover of The Cars and is a fun, poppy song that fits well into the theme of the film. Country singer Brad Paisley, who appeared on the soundtrack to the original “Cars” film, contributes two songs to the sequel’s soundtrack. The first track “Collision of Worlds” is a duet with famous English singer Robbie Williams. The track describes two different ways of life coming together. In this instance, the American and English cultures. The second track “Nobody’s Fool” is a ballad about wanting to be with only one person. The track is a favourite.

The track “Mon Cœur Fait Vroum (My Heart Goes Vroom)”, performed by French artist Benabar is a track sung completely in French. It’s a laidback track and reflects the lifestyle of the French. The track “Polyrhythm” performed by Japanese girl group Perfume is very poppy, and though you may not understand what they are singing, it’s a great song to listen to.

Also included is select pieces of the film’s score composed by Michael Giacchino.
