The iCarly star follows her musical debut on the iCarly soundtrack with her debut album 'Sparks Fly'.
The album opens with the lead single 'Kissin' U' which was co-written by Miranda herself. The track is a regular teen-boppy track that is uplifting and a good track to sing along to. The second track is 'BAM' which is one of the standout tracks on the album. The song is a mix between pop/rock with a Ke$ha vibe to it which leads to the third track 'Disgusting' written and originally recorded by Ke$ha. It's a more mature track than the others but don't think it's not as mature as say, any other of the songs written by Ke$ha. The following track 'Shakespeare' is reminiscent of the lead single and is another poppy-style track. 'Hey You' is the ballad of the album. It's a refreshing change from the regular love ballads out there as it is about a friend trying to find the beauty in themselves. 'There Will Be Tears' is another stand-out from the album and it was surprising to hear Miranda hit all the high notes on the song. "Oh Oh" is a fun dance/pop track about breaking up and realising you don't need the person you broke up with. The last track "Daydream" was originally recorded by Avril Lavigne and is a great pop/rock track.
Miranda has really proven herself in the music world, and if she keeps on recording music like this her career as a music artist will go further. She's no Miley Cyrus but she doesn't need to be. She's doing a good job making music herself.
8/10
